define goals together with the leadership team and make sure they align with the broader company objectives. This will involve convincing, influencing and building relationships with senior stakeholders and peers.
guide your team to collaborate effectively with their team and cross-functionally with other departments to design the right solutions to hit these goals, whilst ensuring they are intuitive and of high usability standards.
manage the operational efficiency of your team by coordinating resources, aligning strengths to problems and identifying potential overlaps or synergies.
provide the necessary context about the user needs, persona’s, workflows, usability challenges, customer journeys, by maintaining a strong user research and testing practice with a healthy dose of pragmatism.
play a key role in reducing complexity and translating concepts into reality.
oversee design's role and activities in our agile iterative process to make sure our solutions get validated, tested and delivered.
drive the evolution and consistent implementation of our design system and style guide by our Principal UI Designer.
be focused on delivering impact and closely measure usage, follow-up on customer feedback and establish a set of usability metrics. Translate the results into a clear case for further investments.
inspire your team with your growth attitude, cultivate a culture of learning and provide and encourage thoughtful feedback. Not shying away from confronting difficult situations.
be fully responsible for the Design team’s growth, development and performance. This includes hiring, retention, coaching, mentoring and performance reviews.
You would be a great fit for this role, if you...
have 7+ years of relevant design experience, ideally in B2B/B2C SaaS or enterprise software
have at least 2 years of experience in a lead role, Lead Designer or Senior Designer, mentoring other designers (ideally as direct reports).
understand how to build and shape high-performing design teams. This includes attracting and hiring top talent, retaining talent by developing designers’ skills and careers and motivating and inspiring people to do their best work.
have strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills. Able to convince, influence and inspire different audiences and on all levels, including peers and executives.
make decisions at a high pace based on the right balance of judgment, customer insight and data. Smartly performing research to manage uncertainty and risk.
are able to learn from and collaborate with multiple departments
think strategically and can define and communicate a sound design vision.
